Made-in-USA Lithium-Ion Cells, Packs & Energy Storage
With over 20 years in lithium-ion battery R&D and manufacturing, American Lithium Energy (ALE) develops advanced cells using Silicon, LFP, LCO, LMFP, NMC and Graphite chemistries – delivering NDAA Section 842 compliant, drop-in battery solutions from watt-hours to megawatt-hours across land, sea, air and space.
American Lithium Energy is a U.S.-owned, vertically integrated designer and manufacturer of advanced lithium-ion cells, modules, packs and energy storage systems. Engineering, electrode manufacturing, cell assembly, formation and aging, abuse testing, pack integration and quality control all take place under one roof in a single AS9100D-certified California facility.
ALE has been awarded sustained funding from the U.S. Department of War, the Department of Energy, the California Energy Commission and Space Force STRATFI to qualify domestic production, scale advanced silicon and LFP chemistries, and field zero-volt-tolerant cells in operational satellite missions.
From a watt-hour wearable carried by a dismounted soldier to a megawatt-hour reserve aboard a ship, the same cell-level advantages – high energy density, high power, intrinsic safety and wide temperature operation – apply across all of them.
A program that buys raw cells inherits cell selection, pack design, BMS development, thermal management, abuse testing and certification. ALE delivers a finished system – cells matched to mission, modules engineered for the form factor, packs integrated with BMS and thermal control, and certification aligned with your platform.
Chemistry, format and electrode formulation matched to the mission profile – energy-dominant, power-dominant or hybrid.
Mechanical, electrical and thermal architecture, including cell-to-cell isolation and propagation containment.
Series/parallel assembly to your voltage and capacity, with housing, connectors and serviceability designed in.
Battery management co-designed with the cells – state-of-health monitoring, balancing, protection and thermal control.
Documentation and test data supporting MIL-STD-810, MIL-PRF-32565, DO-311A, AIAA S-144, UL 1642 and UN 38.3.
Shorten the supplier qualification path and remove the most common reasons a battery vendor is disqualified late in the program cycle.
A patented technology stack – including Safecore™ NTC, Zero Volt and solid-state hybrid architectures – translates directly into program-level outcomes.
Longer mission endurance for the same pack mass, or the same endurance at lower mass – payload capacity, range and loiter improve directly.
Mission readiness from -60 °C to +60 °C across arctic, desert, near-space and orbital environments, without added thermal conditioning.
Sustained operational tempo without sacrificing cell life – relevant to silent watch, ISR and high-cadence unmanned operations.
Audit-ready quality, full traceability from raw materials to finished pack and zero exposure to FOCI-restricted supply chains.
Chemistries: Silicon · LFP · LCO · LMFP · NMC · Graphite
ALE's product range spans seven orders of magnitude in energy delivered per pack.
| Energy | Class | Typical applications |
|---|---|---|
| Wh | Watt-Hour | Wearables, dismounted soldier power, smart munitions, fuzes, expendable sensors, IoT and unattended ground sensors. |
| 100 Wh – 1 kWh | Hundred-Watt-Hour | Handheld radios, portable comms, ISR sensors, conformal soldier batteries, small UAS, missile guidance electronics. |
| 1 – 10 kWh | Kilowatt-Hour | Tactical UAS, small satellite buses, vehicle silent-watch packs, ISR drone payload power, hypersonic test vehicles. |
| 10 – 100 kWh | Tens-of-Kilowatt-Hour | Group 3+ UAS, eVTOL, ground-vehicle hybrid drives, MIL-PRF-32565 6T packs, autonomous surface and undersea vehicles. |
| 100 kWh – 1 MWh | Hundred-Kilowatt-Hour | Manned electric aircraft, hybrid-electric propulsion, mobile microgrids, forward operating base power. |
| 1 MWh + | Megawatt-Hour | Shipboard energy reserves, directed-energy pulse buffers, ground-based laser and radar, large-scale stationary storage. |
These qualified cells are the building blocks. ALE engineering selects, configures and integrates them around your mission profile – treat this as a reference, not a menu. Custom cell development is available under NRE-funded programs.
Heritage form factor with the broadest qualification base. Available in nano-silicon, NMC, LCO and LFP chemistries from approximately 3 Ah to 3.5 Ah – including the world's highest energy density silicon Li-ion 18650 at 4 Ah and 350 Wh/kg.
Higher-capacity cylindrical platform from 5 Ah to 5.7 Ah. More capacity per cell reduces parallel count, simplifying BMS architecture and improving pack-level energy density.
Pouch cells in 2Ah, 7Ah, 14Ah and 19.5Ah capacities for a range of markets.
Drop-in modules, packs and ESS with integrated BMS and thermal control, engineered and certified to your platform's requirements.
| Model | Format | Chemistry | Capacity | Voltage | Highlights |

Battery suppliers fail aerospace and defense source-selection most often not on technical performance, but on compliance and quality posture. ALE was designed from the ground up to clear it.
NDAA FY26 Section 842 – already aligned, not racing to remediate
Section 842 prohibits the Department of War from procuring advanced batteries from foreign entities of concern, with phased deadlines in 2028, 2029 and 2031. ALE's domestic ownership, U.S.-based production and redundant qualified domestic suppliers across cathode, anode, electrolyte, separator and current collector mean programs are aligned today, with full chain-of-custody documentation available.
Trusted by the U.S. Space Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, Department of Energy, California Energy Commission and prime integrators across all services.
